# White-Labeling

White-labeling lets you replace AdaTrack's default identity — name, logos, and colors — with your own, across the dashboard, generated PDF reports, and outbound emails. It's built for organizations that resell or embed AdaTrack under their own brand and don't want "AdaTrack" showing up anywhere your customers see.

***

## Who Can Use It

White-labeling is a premium capability:

| Deployment | Requirement |
| --------------- | ----------------------------------------------------- |
| **SaaS** | Pro tier or above |
| **Self-Hosted** | Enterprise license (the `whitelabel` license feature) |

If your account isn't entitled, the Settings page shows an upsell message instead of the branding editor, and the platform renders with standard AdaTrack branding everywhere.

If you later downgrade or your license expires, your saved brand settings are **not deleted** — the platform simply reverts to default AdaTrack branding until you re-upgrade, at which point your customization reapplies automatically.

## What You Can Customize

| Setting | Where it applies |
| -------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Product name** | Sidebar/topbar, login screen, browser tab title, email and PDF copy |
| **Company name** | PDF report footer, email footer |
| **Support email** | Email footer |
| **Email "From" name** | Display name on outbound emails (the sending address itself stays AdaTrack's, for deliverability) |
| **Primary & accent colors** | Dashboard theme, PDF report header/accent color, email header band |
| **Logo (light & dark variants)** | Sidebar, topbar, login screen |
| **Favicon** | Browser tab icon |
| **Email header logo** | Optional separate logo for outbound email, if you want something different from the in-app logo |

Every field is optional — you can override just your primary color and leave everything else on the AdaTrack default, for example. Branding applies even before login, so your logo and colors show up correctly on the login screen and on public/kiosk dashboards.

## Configuring Your Brand

Branding is configured from the **Settings** page (see [Settings & Personalization](/docs/documentation/core-concepts/settings.md) for the rest of what lives there). When your account is entitled, the Settings list includes a **Branding** row showing a live preview, plus two entries:

* **Brand Identity** — opens a modal for product name, company name, support email, email-from-name, and the primary/accent color pickers. Includes a **Reset to Default** action to clear your customization and fall back to AdaTrack branding.
* **Logos & Icons** — opens a modal with drag-and-drop upload zones for each of the four image assets (logo light, logo dark, favicon, email logo), with inline guidance on accepted formats and size limits.

**Upload constraints:** PNG, SVG, WebP, or ICO; up to 512 KB per file; up to 1024×1024 pixels. Uploaded SVGs are sanitized on the server (scripts and external references stripped) before use.

Only an administrator (or the account owner, on SaaS) can save branding changes.

## SaaS vs. Self-Hosted

* **SaaS:** Branding is per billing account — every user under your account sees the same brand. Your outbound emails still send from AdaTrack's verified domain (only the display name is branded), which keeps deliverability intact.
* **Self-Hosted:** Branding is a single instance-wide setting, managed by any administrator. Since self-hosted deployments already control their own outbound mail server (see [Email Providers](/docs/documentation/administration/email-providers.md)), there's no sending-domain restriction — your email's "From" address is whatever your SMTP provider is configured to use.

Custom domains (e.g., a vanity URL like `track.yourcompany.com`) and landing/marketing site theming are not part of white-labeling — they're separate infrastructure concerns.
